Bush Is Disgusting By: Norm Walker I cannot remember a day in my lifetime that I held a President in such low regard as I do George W. Bush. I know, I know, I should respect the Office if not the man. When I see him with that smirk on his face unilaterally declaring war on the world there is no way I can think of the Office separately. He is the Office. Even though Richard Nixon was a low life and a crook he did posses a degree of intelligence and spoke in a knowledgeable manner. The Twig is simply a lackey for the Right Wing. He is on a puppet string and dances the dance he is told to dance. He has improved when he is on script but, when they let him out on his own he reveals that he is close to being a moron. Everytime I see him on television I shake my head in disbelief that he is the President of the United States. Republicans like to describe Bush as a "likable man of integrity". HOGWASH! The Twig is not likable from my point of view. He is arrogant. He has no respect for the wage earner. He lies constantly and continuously. He expects humanity to bow down because he comes from a privileged group of Americans that have never had to work for a living. He apparently despises liberty for the poor and thinks he can talk his way out of anything. How can any human being with any concern for the working people of this country hold in respect a President that says that cutting taxes on dividends will improve the economy. It just doesn't work that way. Think people, think. 70% of the economy is consumer based. There has to be a demand before products can be sold and people have to have money to buy. And, 75% of people making $75,000. or less a year do not receive taxable dividends from stock. A cut of taxes on dividends will not provide money to those that need it to stimulate the economy. No doubt that a cut in taxes on dividends will put more money into the pockets of those that already have money but, there is no reason to expect them to spend it to stimulate the economy. They have no need to. If you think for one minute that a person of the caliber of George W. Bush has some concern for old folks that are scrimping on their prescriptions and eating a poor diet you are delusional. Even those tax cuts on dividends that benefit seniors nearly 40% goes to 2.5% of them that have incomes above $200,000.00 annually. And according to the Center on Budget and Policy Prioritities almost three-fourths would go to the 19% who have incomes above $75.000. One more item. Since the poor didn't vote for Bush why should he care. He won't get their votes in the future so he doesn't care. On the other hand the wealthy love their puppet no matter how he presents himself to the rest of the world. Let him play with his Army and Navy. Let him declare war on the rest of the world. As long as they don't have to pay for it with money or lives they don't give a damn. This is a very disgusting time in American history. Let's make sure it's recorded for posterity. That will be our sweet revenge. © Liberal Slant All rights reserved. |
