Bush Crazy Over Lack of Weapons By: Richard Lent It is indeed sad to see how far Bush's mind has become muddled and unstable when he wants people to believe that Saddam Hussein is more of a threat to this country than is North Korea. Even a youngster who reads newspapers and keeps up with current events knows this argument is totally unrealistic and insane. Bush is getting more paranoid daily with his irrational belief that Saddam is somehow hiding a nuclear bomb in his country despite all of the U.S. inspectors who have been combing Iraq for the past month. Any rational thinking person is aware of the fact that Bush is going to invade Iraq despite the fact that the U.S. inspectors find nothing more than a sling-shot possessed by an Iraqi. This certainly is not the rational thinking of a man who has in his hands the authority to bring this country into a needless and dangerous conflict. The leader of the most powerful country on earth should possess superior mental health simply because of the awesome military might he yields. The leader of the free world certainly should not harbor the mentally unstable thought that he must get Saddam Hussein in his clutches because according to George W., Saddam tried to kill his father a decade ago and he wants his pound of flesh now for that uncorroborated claim. Even though it may be true, a rational thinking person would never risk the lives of American men and women to satisfy a personal grudge. A rational thinking person would attempt other more sane methods of dealing with Saddam Hussein, but no one is going to change this warmonger's unstable mind about throwing our military forces into Iraq come hell of high water. Let the world court take Saddam to task for his dastardly deeds committed against his enemies in previous years, but don't bring the world to the brink of a long and bloody war. It is certain that Bush will attack Iraq as soon as he can and will do so without the blessing of the United Nations. This will only make foreign countries hate America more and will do nothing toward making this world a peaceful place in which to live. If Bush in his warped thinking believes that Iraq is more of a threat to America than is North Korea with its known weapons of mass destruction, it is time for logic to take hold in this administration and attempt to stop Bush from doing what he want to do in Iraq. It is time for the Republican party and all Republicans to come to terms with the problem Bush presents for the country and get him the psychological help he needs before it is too late. This is the opinion of a life-long Republican who voted for Bush, but wishes he had not. All rights reserved. |
